This post is part of an ongoing series called “The Intentional Destruction of the USA.” Find out more here.
In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade. Their decision legalized abortion in the United States, and since then, over 50 million children have been murdered in the womb of their mothers. On the average, over 3,000 babies are murdered daily, but no flags will be lowered and you definitely won’t hear about it on the news.
Sure, some people will make the claim that abortion isn’t murder. Yet, life obviously starts at conception, because the child has all the genetic information it’s going to have. Let’s be real. If you have a fertilized egg and a womb, you have everything you need to create a child. I guess a pregnant woman who wants her child is having a baby, while a pregnant woman who doesn’t want her child is ‘aborting a fetus.’
Regardless, the Bible makes it very clear that abortion is murder. For starters, God formed us in the womb and knew us before we were born (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 44:2; Jeremiah 1:5). Every child is fully human from the time of fertilization. In addition, killing innocent people is murder (Jeremiah 7:6). What about abortion in cases of rape and incest? Well, Deuteronomy 24:16 says “Fathers may not be put to death for the sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin.” Why would we punish children for their parent’s crimes?
Since abortion is murder, it shouldn’t be allowed by governments. After all, the main function of government is to protect people’s God-given rights (Genesis 9:6; Romans 13:1-7). Any country that condones the murder of unborn babies stands against God. Just look at ancient Israel.
Indeed, God commanded the Israelites not to burn their children alive as sacrifices to idols (Leviticus 18:21; Leviticus 20:1-5). Of course, they disobeyed, and it was one of the sins which led to Israel’s downfall (Jeremiah 32:35-36). These days, children may not be sacrificed to statues, but how many have been sacrificed to the idol of convenience? Will God turn a blind eye to the innocent blood that is shed daily in this country?
Make no mistake, the United States will be judged. In a way, it’s already taking place. The Bible says that those who reject God are given over to a depraved mind, and they sin with reckless abandon (Romans 1:18-32). Eventually, people reach a point where they heartily approve of various sins. For example, Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, once said “I think the greatest sin in the world is bringing children into the world – that have disease from their parents, that have no chance in the world to be a human being practically. Delinquents, prisoners, all sorts of things just marked when they’re born. That to me is the greatest sin – that people can – can commit.” That’s what a depraved mind sounds like: endorsing murder and calling child-bearing ‘the greatest sin.’
Ultimately, when a society cheers sin, it’s just a matter of time before lawlessness ensues. That’s where America is headed.
