In time, the military success of the Antichrist will come to an end. Daniel 11:45 prophesies that the Antichrist “will come to his end, and no one will help him.” What changes between Daniel 11:44 and Daniel 11:45?
Simply put, according to Matthew 24:22, God is going to abruptly and dramatically put an end to the Great Tribulation by the return of Jesus. This is known as the Rapture. Jesus spoke about it in Matthew 24:29-31. First, Jesus will rescue His followers and then He will execute His wrath upon the world. Put differently, immediately after the Rapture, the Day of the Lord’s wrath will begin.
In Matthew 24:30-31, Jesus said that right after He appears in the sky, the Rapture will take place and then His wrath will be executed. This is graphically depicted in Revelation 6:12-17, when Jesus appears in the sky and the world fears His coming wrath, and Revelation 7:9-17, which shows followers of Jesus that have come out of the Great Tribulation in Heaven.
The sixth seal of Revelation is going to signal God’s wrath. Revelation 6:17 makes this clear. God’s judgments will be pronounced at the seventh seal, in Revelation 8:1-6. They will then be executed during the trumpets and the bowls in Revelation, specifically Revelation chapters 8-9; chapter 11:15-19 and chapter 16 for those interested in reading about just how epic the wrath of God is going to be.
