1) The Antichrist rises to power in Syria (Daniel 8:9; 11:21).
2) Israel and many other nations attack the Antichrist and lose (Daniel 11:22).
3) The Antichrist, Israel and many nations sign a seven-year covenant (Daniel 9:27; 11:23).
4) Jesus said that the end times would begin with a period of deception, wars, famines, earthquakes, plagues and terrifying sights from Heaven (Matthew 24:4-8; Mark 13:5-8; Luke 21:8-11). He called this period the Beginning of Birth Pangs (Matthew 24:8). It will be completed when the Abomination of Desolation takes place (Matthew 24:15-21). The first three seals of Revelation depict this same period, highlighting the arrival of the ultimate deceiver, the Antichrist, and his involvement in violent uprisings and famines (Revelation 6:1-6). Daniel prophesied that the Antichrist will take plunder, distribute it among his followers and engage in wars during this period (Daniel 11:23-30).
5) The Antichrist’s first invasion of Israel fails (Daniel 11:29-30).
6) The Antichrist dies sometime before the Great Tribulation. Around this time, Michael kicks Satan out of Heaven (Revelation 12:7-17). God allows Satan to resurrect the Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:3-12; Revelation 13:3, 12, 14; 17:8-11).
7) Halfway through Daniel’s 70th Week, several events unfold in rapid succession. First, the Antichrist assumes power over a ten-kingdom coalition out of the geographic area of the old Roman Empire and replaces three of the rulers (Daniel 7:7-8, 23-24). After this, the Antichrist and the ten kingdoms will take out Babylon the Great (Revelation 17:16), the world’s superpower at this time (Revelation 17:18). With Babylon the Great out of the way, the Antichrist will invade Jerusalem (Ezekiel 38:1-17). Next, the Abomination of Desolation occurs (Daniel 11:31; Matthew 24:15). The Antichrist enters the Temple and claims to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:4). The remnant of Israel will flee to the wilderness for 3 ½ years (Revelation 12:6, 13-14). This remnant is a reference to the 144,000 Jews who are going to be sealed and protected by God, just before He pours out His wrath (Revelation 7:3-8). The wilderness is a reference to Bozrah, which is in modern-day Jordan (Isaiah 63:1-4; Jeremiah 49:13-14; Micah 2:12-13). Finally, the two witnesses begin their ministry (Revelation 11:3).
8) Jesus warned that the Abomination of Desolation would begin the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15-21). Many Jews in Israel will be killed and exiled during this period (Zechariah 14:2-3). After going after the Jewish people, the Antichrist will violently persecute Christians (Revelation 12:17). The Antichrist will require everyone to take his mark and worship his image (Revelation 13:11-18). Many Christians will be martyred (Revelation 13:10). This persecution is graphically depicted in the fourth and fifth seals of Revelation (Revelation 6:7-11).
9) During the Great Tribulation, the Antichrist will conquer most of the Middle East and parts of North Africa, including Egypt, Libya and Ethiopia (Daniel 11:40-44). Jordan will not be conquered (Daniel 11:41). He will have political control of only 1/4 of the world (Revelation 6:8).
10) The Antichrist will have authority for 3 1/2 years (Revelation 13:5). Yet, Jesus promised that the Great Tribulation would be cut short (Matthew 24:22). At some unknown time during the Great Tribulation, the sun darkens, stars fall from the sky and other celestial disturbances occur (Joel 2:30-31; Matthew 24:29; Revelation 6:12-13). Then, Jesus appears in the sky and every eye sees Him (Matthew 24:30; Revelation 1:7; 6:16). This is graphically depicted in the sixth seal of Revelation (Revelation 6:12-17).
11) The Rapture and Resurrection take place. Jesus simultaneously resurrects the dead in Christ and rescues His followers (Matthew 24:31; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). The 144,000 are sealed (Revelation 7:1-8). The raptured people of God are shown in Heaven in between the sixth and seventh seals of Revelation (Revelation 7:9-17).
12) The seventh seal is opened, beginning the wrath of God (Revelation 8:1-5). The first six seals aren’t the wrath of God (Revelation 6:10-11, 17).
13) The first six trumpet judgments of Revelation unfold (Revelation 8-9). The fifth trumpet judgment lasts at least 5 months (Revelation 9:10).
14) In between the sixth and seventh trumpets, the mystery of God will be completed (Revelation 10:7). The mystery of God is the national salvation of Israel (Romans 11:25-27). It begins with the Antichrist murdering the two witnesses (Revelation 11:7-10). They are killed at the end of Daniel’s 70th Week because it will be the last day of their authority to witness and the last day of the Antichrist’s authority to act (Revelation 11:1-3; 12:6; 13:5). The desolation of Jerusalem and the Temple lasts 1,260 days, which is 42 months and 3 ½ years (Revelation 11:2; 12:6; 13:5–6). Daniel 12:11 states that from the time of this desolation there will be 1,290 days. So, there is going to be an extra 30-day period. After the Antichrist murders the two witnesses, Christ physically returns to destroy armies gathered in the Valley of Jehoshaphat (Joel 3:2, 12; Zechariah 14:3). Jesus slaughters the armies until He reaches Bozrah, in Jordan, where He rescues the Jewish remnant (Isaiah 34:4-8; Jeremiah 49:13-14, 22). Jesus leads the 144,000 to Jerusalem and other Jews rally to Him (Hosea 6:2; Zechariah 12:6-10). On the third day of Christ’s journey, He arrives in Jerusalem. After He arrives, the two witnesses are resurrected (Revelation 11:7-11). The 144,000 join Jesus on Mount Zion, praising Him (Revelation 14:1-5). They are the first fruits of the national salvation of Israel (Revelation 14:4). When Jesus meets them at Bozrah they receive Him. While they journey with Christ to Jerusalem, the rest of the Jewish people will turn to the Lord. All Israel will be saved.
15) The seventh trumpet is blown announcing that Jesus is King over the earth (Revelation 11:15-19). It will be time for God to reward His servants and finish off wicked humanity (Revelation 11:18).
16) The first six bowl judgments unfold against those that oppose the establishment of Christ’s Kingdom on earth (Revelation 15-16).
17) While the bowl judgments are being executed on earth, Jesus conducts a rewards ceremony for His followers in Heaven (Revelation 11:18). This is called the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10). Afterward, the Marriage of the Lamb takes place (Revelation 19:7-9). Christ, the Bridegroom, will forever be united with His faithful followers, His bride (1 Thessalonians 4:17; Revelation 19:7-8; 21:2, 9; 22:17).
18) The Battle of Armageddon happens in between the sixth and seventh bowls of Revelation (Revelation 16:16; 19:17-21). The Antichrist and the False Prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 19:20).
19) The seventh bowl is poured out (Revelation 16:17-21). The cities of the world will fall, a tsunami will wipe Babylon the Great off of the map, every island in the world will be gone and so will every mountain (Revelation 16:19-21; 18:21-24). The seventh bowl concludes the 30-day overtime period, the Day of the Lord and Christ’s second coming.
20) Daniel 12:12 states that there will be an additional 45-day period after the 30-days. It will involve the Sheep/Goat Judgment (Matthew 25:31-46) and preparations for the Millennial Kingdom, including but not limited to Mount Zion becoming the highest mountain (Isaiah 2:2) and a new Temple (Ezekiel 40-48).
21) To begin the Kingdom era, Satan is bound (Revelation 20:2). Next, there will be a new heaven and a new earth, and New Jerusalem will come down out of Heaven (Revelation 21:1-2). Finally, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb officially inaugurates the Kingdom (Luke 22:18; Revelation 19:9).
22) At the end of the 1,000 years, Satan is released and he gathers a group to attack New Jerusalem (Revelation 20:7-8). He fails (Revelation 20:9). Satan is then tossed into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:10). The White Throne Judgment occurs (Revelation 20:11-15). Hades and everyone in it will be thrown into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14). Death will also be thrown into the Lake of Fire (1 Corinthians 15:26; Revelation 20:14). Once complete, Jesus will hand over His Kingdom to the Father (1 Corinthians 15:24-28). Eternity will have arrived.
