The trumpets and bowls of Revelation detail God’s wrath during the Day of the Lord. The nations of the world will be judged, specifically for their violent persecution of Christians and Jews and their hatred of God. At the seventh seal, seven angels will prepare to sound their trumpets. The trumpets are the first phase of God’s wrath. The first four trumpet judgments target nature while the final three directly target wicked humanity.
When the first trumpet is blown, a third of the earth’s vegetation will be destroyed. When the second trumpet is blown, a large meteor or something like it will be thrown into the sea, destroying many ships and killing lots of sea life. At the third trumpet, a meteor or something similar will fall upon one-third of the rivers and springs of water, making one-third of the world’s freshwater poisonous. When the fourth trumpet is blown, one-third of the stars, sun and moon will be darkened, making it difficult to distinguish between night and day.
