*For another look at this topic, check out the following video –> Who is Involved in the Ezekiel 38 Invasion?
There are eight participants in the Ezekiel 38 invasion. Except Persia, these names come from direct descendants of Noah in Genesis 10. In other words, God named the ethnicities that would take part, with one exception, not the specific geographic locations. This is important because some of these people groups have moved since Ezekiel’s day and this prophecy will be fulfilled at the time of the end. What matters is where these people groups are today. In his book The Tower of Babel: The Cultural History of Our Ancestors, Bodie Hodge did a lot of great research on this subject. The first listed participants are directly under the control of the Antichrist: Magog, Meshech and Tubal. These three people groups have strong links to Russia.1
In Ezekiel 38:5-6, the other participants are listed. Russia will be joined by Persia. Unlike the other participants, Persia is not the name of a people group. It’s another name for the modern nation of Iran. Cush will also be involved. Cush is commonly associated with Ethiopia and some English translations of the Bible even substitute Ethiopia for Cush.2 In addition to Cush, Put will join the Antichrist. Put’s descendants mainly wound up in Libya, but they also spread throughout North Africa.3 Additionally, Gomer will join this campaign. His descendants mainly settled in modern France.4 Togarmah will be the final participant in the Antichrist’s invasion. Togarmah is usually associated with the Turkic peoples in modern Turkey and Central Asia.5 So, while it’s difficult to be completely certain, some of the finest research shows this coalition will include Russia and some other Slavic countries, Iran, Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, Libya, much of Northwest Africa, France, Turkey, Azerbaijan and the Turkic “Stan” countries of Central Asia. That’s a massive military force and it’s possible that other nations will be involved.
