Satan is the prince of the power of the air. He uses the media to impose his reality. He constantly lies to wear us down, to get us to renounce Christ. Satan’s plan for your life is simple: curse God and die. Like in the Garden of Eden, we have a choice: believe God’s word or Satan’s distortions.
We must submit to God and resist any demonic attacks. Dedicate your life to Christ and renew your mind. Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Rebuke any thought or feeling that doesn’t line up with the reality of heaven and replace it with the facts: we’re saved, healed, delivered and blessed in Christ. Confess the relevant promises of God, depending on the situation. In this way, believers can withstand demonic attacks, avoiding the corruption of our minds and rejecting any demonic attempts to seduce us into receiving another spirit. Do not give the devil an opportunity!
By the way, is Vladimir Putin the Antichrist?
Recently, Russia’s Constitutional Court ruled that it was legal to amend the constitution to allow Vladimir Putin to stay in power until 2036. This has led some people to ask: is Putin the Antichrist?
For starters, the Antichrist is known as Gog. Gog is of Magog and the ruler of Meshech and Tubal at the time of the end. Do these names refer to places or ethnicities? Genesis 10:1-2 says these three guys were sons of Japheth, one of Noah’s sons. So, Magog, Meshech and Tubal are people groups, not geographic locations. Put differently, these names are referring to specific ethnicities. Ezekiel 38:8 makes it clear that Gog’s invasion will happen in the final years before Christ’s return, which means it’s important to find out where the descendants of Magog, Meshech and Tubal eventually settled.
In his book The Tower of Babel: The Cultural History of Our Ancestors, Bodie Hodge did a lot of excellent research on this very subject. As it turns out, they settled in many places, but they all have strong connections to Russia. Magog is commonly associated with most Slavic-speaking peoples, including Russia, Meshech is commonly associated with the Moscow region of Russia and Tubal is commonly associated with Siberian Russia, reflected in the name of the Siberian city Tobolsk. Look at pages 179-180 of Bodie Hodge’s book The Tower of Babel: The Cultural History of Our Ancestors for details. Obviously, Russia is about as far north of Israel as you can get and Ezekiel 38:15 tells us that Gog will come from “the remote parts of the north.”
By the way, Daniel 11:21-45 calls the Antichrist the King of the North. While that seems to confirm a Russian Antichrist, this title actually described the leaders of the Seleucid Empire, which was based in Syria and Iraq. Daniel 8:9 says the Antichrist will rise out of the western part of the Seleucid Empire, Syria. This is discussed in detail in our Daniel 11:21-45 series. Putting Ezekiel 38 and Daniel 11 together, the Antichrist will be the ruler of Russia at the time of the end who comes to power in Syria. Is that Vladimir Putin? It’s tough to say, but his intelligence background, strategic mind and general cunning make him an attractive candidate.
