Is Islam the global religious system of the end times? It’s popular to think so, but it just doesn’t add up. For starters, the Antichrist is going to claim to be God, according to 2 Thessalonians 2:4. No consistent Muslim would ever do that. That’s blasphemy in Islamic circles. In some Muslim-majority countries, blaspheming Allah is punishable by death.
Furthermore, the world is going to worship the Antichrist’s image, which we read about in Revelation 13:10-17. Well, no Muslim would ever worship an image. I mean, you can’t even draw a picture of Muhammad without being violently threatened by a devout Muslim. Why would they worship the image of someone claiming to be God?
Curiously, after the sixth trumpet judgment kills one-third of sinful humanity, the world continues its worship of idols of gold, silver and other materials. This event is described in Revelation 9:13-21. Without a doubt, idol worship is more consistent with paganism than with Islam. Somewhat shockingly, Muslims are commanded to kill pagans in Surah 9:5 of the Koran.
Finally, if the Muslim world receives the Antichrist as their Islamic savior and leader, why does the Antichrist have to conquer so many countries with large Muslim populations? Daniel 8 describes how the Antichrist takes out Iran, a Muslim-majority country. Daniel 11:43 notes that the Antichrist conquers Egypt, Ethiopia and Libya, all countries with substantial Muslims populations.
At the end of the day, Revelation 13:3-4 makes it clear that in the end times, the world worships the Antichrist and Satan. The religious system of the end times won’t be Islam, apostate Christianity or some New Age nonsense. The Bible makes it clear that it’s much simpler than that: the religious system of the end times is Satan worship.
So, Muslims will have a choice. Will they renounce Islam and worship a man’s image? Or will they join the Christians? In the Koran, Surah 10:94-95 says that if there are any doubts about spiritual things, ask a Christian. It’s time for Muslims to start consulting the Bible about the end times, before it’s too late.
