The Daniel 11:22 War
Egypt recently launched a “weapons manufacturing plan to achieve self-sufficiency and export Egyptian weapons abroad.” On top of that, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has already “opened a number of other new projects for military production.” Egypt is fortifying. With the United States gradually withdrawing from the Middle East, it couldn’t happen at a better time.
According to Daniel 11, Egypt is the Antichrist’s biggest obstacle to taking over the Middle East and North Africa. Daniel 11:25-26 prophesies that the Antichrist will attack Egypt and win. Daniel 11:27 suggests they talk about invading Israel, but nothing comes of it. They will make a truce of sorts, but it won’t last. By the way, Daniel 11:28 notes the Antichrist takes a lot of plunder, implying that Egypt’s economy is doing well in the end times.
After the Antichrist’s successful invasion of Israel, Egypt will start some trouble, according to Daniel 11:40. On his way to do battle, Daniel 11:41 says the Antichrist conquers most of the Middle East and North Africa. Daniel 11:42-43 says that he’ll specifically conquer Egypt. Of course, the Antichrist’s confrontations with Israel and Egypt are merely a continuation of the Daniel 11:22 War, which begins his rise to the top in the Middle East.
In any case, judging from Isaiah 19:19-25, God will use this defeat to bring the Egyptians to repentance. Isaiah prophesied that during the end times, the Egyptians, “will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them.” He added, “the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day.” The phrase “in that day” almost always refers to the end times, specifically the Day of the Lord. In the end, all Egyptians will follow Jesus, but their country will first be conquered by the Antichrist.
Sheep/Goat nations
Over the past several years, Europeans have put up with an invasion of migrants. These migrants, which come from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, tend not to assimilate. Considering Europeans aren’t having a lot of kids anymore, Europe, the land of gulags and concentration camps, is probably going to explode with ethnic cleansing at some point. Well, Jesus warned that in the end times, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” The word used for nation in this passage is ethnos, from which we get the word ethnicity. The word for kingdom is basileia, which refers to a kingdom or a realm. So while there are going to be conflicts between countries, it appears there will also be ethnic conflicts within nations. In Europe that may happen sooner rather than later.
According to Reuters, Josep Borrell, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, told Turkey that “the situation at the border with Greece was unacceptable and Turkey should not encourage further movement of migrants toward the border with EU states.” Of course, for those of us in the real world, it’s pretty clear a stern talk won’t do anything to stop the flood of migrants. It’s in Turkey’s interest to destabilize Europe, especially their old rivals Greece and Cyprus. Needless to say, the EU’s passivity on the issue will undoubtedly create discontent. Indeed, it may drive many Europeans to embrace Putin’s views on the matter, who has pointed out how absurd it is that migrants can “kill, plunder and rape with impunity” in Europe.
On a related note, it’s possible Europe embraces the Antichrist because he crushes Islam. He subjugates the Middle East and conquers Egypt, Libya and Ethiopia. Perhaps that’s why the world is in awe of him and worships him, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?”
Satanism
There are a lot of cults of Christianity out there. One of these cults is the Shincheonji Church. The organization is led by Lee Man-hee, who “is revered by his followers as the “Promised Pastor” who will take 144,000 people with him to heaven on the Day of Judgement.” Yet, this supposedly special leader couldn’t even stop coronavirus from sweeping through his congregation. Quite the opposite, “Seoul’s city government has asked prosecutors to press charges, including murder, against him and 11 other sect leaders for failing to cooperate in containing the spread of the deadly coronavirus.” Apparently, Shincheonji Church is linked to a substantial number of South Korea’s coronavirus cases. Lee Man-hee has no supernatural power; he has been unmasked. Hopefully, members of Shincheonji Church will seen him for what he is: a false prophet.
Regarding the end times, Jesus warned, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.” He added, “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.” Stay alert, remain focused, bind and loose when appropriate, test everything and hold fast to the Word of God.
London = Babylon the Great?
Although it’s been a while, Russia and Britain used to have a serious imperial rivalry. With the United Kingdom officially out of the European Union, the rivalry is about to be renewed. A little while back, a spokeswoman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson remarked, “The prime minister said there will be no normalization of our bilateral relationship until Russia ends the destabilizing activity that threatens the UK and our allies and undermines the safety of our citizens and our collective security.” Translation? We’re back in the game and we’re ready to compete.
What sort of destabilizing activity has Russia been engaged in? According to the British, Russia is responsible for a chemical attack on a former Russian spy and his daughter living in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately for Russia and the UK, their relationship is likely about to get much worse. The United States is done being the world’s policeman. The British and the Russians were allies against Napoleonic France. They fought together against Germany during the world wars. They secretly undermined the US during the Cold War. Without a common enemy, Russia and Britain are likely to be at odds with each other. They’re going to compete for resources and power.
In 2018, the United Kingdom opened its first permanent military base in the Middle East since the 1970s, strategically located in Bahrain. The British have at least three warships in the Gulf to protect their interests. In 2016, Boris Johnson, now the prime minister, gave a speech titled, “Britain is back East of Suez.” In related news, the British have promised to increase their troop presence in Syria. The UK is going to protect its economic interests in the Middle East, which are particularly important post-Brexit. On the flipside, Russia is trying to make inroads in Africa, having already deployed its military to the Central African Republic and the Republic of Congo. Russian mercenaries are operating in Syria and in Africa. On top of that, the Russians have signed agricultural agreements with Saudi Arabia and are looking to expand their influence in Central Asia.
At the beginning of the end times, Babylon the Great is the dominant global power. The cosmopolitan, international city, known for its extravagant wealth, is going to be an economic powerhouse and a financial center. Consequently, it will rule “over the kings of the earth.” This creates resentment and allows the Antichrist, who will be the ruler of Russia at the time of the end, to lead a coalition of ten rulers that destroys Babylon the Great. After he destroys Babylon the Great, the Antichrist creates his own financial system: the mark of the beast.
