Fortunately, this trend has reversed. Many Americans have awakened, but it’s just the beginning. Over the next few years, corruption and criminality at the highest level, in government, the entertainment industry, the financial sector and religious organizations, will be exposed. Americans will witness one of the greatest reckonings in history, as God holds corrupt institutions accountable and judges the crooked establishment. Some people will resist it while others will receive it gladly. Either way, the outcome of this new war of independence is certain: The United States will repent and be restored to its former glory.
The United States is a Christian nation. It’s a country founded on biblical principles. Its founders were steeped in a biblical worldview; for all its history Christians have been the largest religious group. Until recently, the American way of life was unquestionably Christian in character. President John Adams acknowledged, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” No doubt, the religion he had in mind was Christianity.
Years later, President Teddy Roosevelt observed, “The teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally—I do not mean figuratively, I mean literally—impossible for us to figure to ourselves what that life would be if these teachings were removed.” Indeed, his statement proved to be prophetic.
In 1948, the United States Supreme Court decided McCollum v. Board of Education. They ruled that it was illegal for public school facilities to be used by religious groups for instructing schoolchildren, even if the classes were voluntary. Years later, in 1962, the Supreme Court decided Engel v. Vitale. In this ruling, the judges outlawed public school officials from composing or encouraging prayer in their classrooms. A year later, in Abington School District v. Schempp, the Supreme Court declared that public school teachers could no longer read the Bible to their students.
By 1968, in Epperson v. Arkansas, an Arkansas law that prohibited the teaching of evolution in public schools was struck down. The Supreme Court said that public schools couldn’t teach anything that lined up with the views of a certain religion. Of course, there’s no such thing as a neutral education. Noah Webster, the dictionary guy, once said that “Every civil government is based upon some religion or philosophy of life. Education in a nation will propagate the religion of that nation.” He concluded, “Our liberty, growth, and prosperity was the result of a Biblical philosophy of life. Our continued freedom and success is dependent on our educating the youth of America in the principles of Christianity.”
By 1970, prayer was gone, the Bible was gone and evolution became the official, government-sponsored story of how we got here. The consequences of removing God from our schools have been devastating; the silence from pastors has been deafening. During the War of Independence, the British called ministers who promoted American independence the Black Robed Regiment. Those days are long gone. Those courageous men of God have been replaced by cowards, men of weak character who have willingly shirked their duty to God and country.
The Lord was removed from schools and the church establishment was silent. Public displays of Christianity, from nativities to crosses, were censored and banned. Nothing was done. After Roe vs. Wade, which legalized the murder of the unborn, where were church leaders? Today, how many pastors refuse to boldly stand up for the truth because they are worried about
losing their tax-exempt status, being sued or losing parishioners? Ministers refuse to preach all of God’s Word. Out of cowardice, they ignore the important topics society wants God’s perspective on.
Nothing is more relevant than Jesus. He’s not optional, He’s not the key to a bigger and better you and He’s not some feel-good Sunday school story for kids. He is everything that matters in life. How many churches avoid talking about how God created everything, preferring to be
ambiguous about evolution, the state-sponsored version of where we came from?
How many churches ignore or deny the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit? How many pastors purposely avoid discussing Bible prophecy and the return of King Jesus?
The United States has more churches, Bibles, conferences, children’s programs, ministries and Christian entertainment than any other country in the world. Regardless, the American church is in retreat. It has lost much of its influence on the culture. Without question, the irrelevance of American churches can be traced to their refusal to genuinely believe and authentically share the full message of God’s Word.
Well, what we believe about why we’re here, religion, affects how we view the world and how we act, culture. Naturally, politics reflects culture. Epstein’s island revealed that pedophiles dominate politics and entertainment; Uranium One and Spygate demonstrated that treason is commonplace amongst America’s political class. Once the church system was corrupted, the culture and the political system quickly followed.
In His mercy, God found someone outside of the system to restore America. He anointed Donald Trump. Several individuals were anointed in the Bible. Joseph was chosen by God to save the Jewish people from famine. Nebuchadnezzar was chosen to judge
the people of Judah. Cyrus the Persian was chosen to return the Jews to the land of Israel. These individuals were chosen for specific tasks and they executed those tasks despite opposition. Fittingly, facing fierce resistance, President Trump is protecting God’s people, judging the corrupt establishment and honoring Israel.
What happens when you attack God’s anointed? Simply put, the attacks will backfire. Look at the life of Joseph. First, he was sold into slavery by his brothers. As a slave, however, he became the right-hand man of a powerful Egyptian named Potiphar. Sadly, Potiphar’s wife made up some sexual harassment claims against Joseph and got him thrown in jail. Amazingly, in jail, he became the warden’s right-hand man. Eventually, through his God-given gift of interpreting dreams, he was released from prison and became Pharaoh’s right-hand man. Everyone that attacked him was under his authority. Even his brothers begged him for food.
In other words, God has chosen and equipped President Trump to successfully return America to its roots. With a campaign motto of “Make America Great Again”, how could he not be anointed to restore America? The United States will again honor the Lord and be a refuge for Christians and Jews. It’s why President Trump has recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish people and moved our embassy. It’s why he is actively protecting religious liberty. It’s why he declared, “In America, we don’t worship government – we worship God.” Like Nehemiah and Ezra, God is using him to rebuild the walls and repair the foundations.
In past revivals, from the First Great Awakening to Azusa Street, Christians renounced the accepted form of worship. Honestly, we’ve put up with complacency, compromise and corruption for far too long. The days of ministry CEOs are over. The corporate, non-profit “church” is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Authentic fellowship, the power of the Holy Spirit and house churches weren’t just for the first century. Christians are going out like we came in. There will be resistance, but it will fail. Fighting against God is always a losing battle and the restoration of America is already underway. Get ready for the great awakening.
