Back in 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted the first Russia-Africa Summit. It was a sign of Russia’s increased focus on Africa. Although Russian mercenaries are reportedly operating in Africa, Russia has officially deployed its military to the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic (CAR). In fact, the Central African Republic’s Ambassador to Russia recently stated: “Russian instructors did for our country in one year what Western military, American or French, failed to do in ten years. So I’m very glad and we would like for [their] number to increase.” According to TASS, there are currently “over 500 Russian instructors and advisors working” in the CAR.
With tribal conflicts, the lack of nuclear weapons and an abundance of natural resources, African countries are prime targets for foreign powers. Back in the late 1800s, the Scramble for Africa took place. European countries divided up Africa. Nearly the entire continent was under European control. These days, the combination of raw materials, corrupt governments and security issues has made Africa as vulnerable as ever to foreign armies. For now, countries are content to invest and send a few soldiers to help cooperative governments. It’s just the beginning.
Of course, the Antichrist is the leader of Russia in the end times. He’s going to conquer Egypt, Ethiopia and Libya, among other countries. Clearly, at some point, Russia will become the most influential foreign power in the Middle East and Africa.
