France is going to take part in the Antichrist’s invasion of Jerusalem in the end times, prophesied in Ezekiel 38. How do we know? Well, there are eight participants in the Ezekiel 38 invasion. Except Persia, these names come from direct descendants of Noah in Genesis 10. In other words, God named the ethnicities that would take part, with one exception, not the specific geographic locations. This is important because some of these people groups have moved since Ezekiel’s day and this prophecy will be fulfilled at the time of the end. What matters is where these people groups are today. Gomer is one of the participants. Gomer was a son of Japheth. According to some of the best research on the matter, his descendants mainly settled in modern France.* Gaul, one of the historic names for France, is a reflection of Gomer’s people having settled there.
Honestly, it’s not difficult to picture France joining the Antichrist in invading Israel. After all, the French Revolution was blatantly antichrist in character. France introduced a state-sponsored atheistic religion, the Cult of Reason, which turned churches into so-called Temples of Reason. This national religion was soon replaced by a state-sponsored deistic religion, the Cult of the Supreme Being. Likewise, France replaced the Christian calendar with a calendar that set the date of the Revolution as year one. Several priests were murdered, crosses were destroyed and Christianity was outlawed. Amazingly, France’s national holiday, Bastille Day, commemorates the start of the Revolution. Is it any wonder that anti-Christian attacks have quadrupled between 2008 and 2019? The more things change, the more they stay the same.
In addition to growing anti-Christian sentiment, antisemitism has increased in France in recent years. In fact, it has led many French Jews to flee to Israel. It’s somewhat fitting that French Jews are moving to Israel, considering French antisemitism played a role in the founding of the State of Israel. Theodor Herzl, considered the father of political Zionism, was first moved to advocate for a Jewish state because of the Dreyfus affair. Alfred Dreyfus, a captain in the French army, was falsely accused and convicted of treason. His Jewish ancestry played a big role in his false conviction.
Unfortunately, France continued to have a lot of influence globally after the Revolution. Sure, the Revolution was the beginning of the end of France’s colonial empire. Although French colonization originally mirrored Spanish and Portuguese efforts, after the French openly rebelled against God, they lost Haiti and had to sell French Louisiana to the United States. This didn’t stop them, or other European powers for that matter, from later colonizing Asia and Africa. Still, the so-called New Imperialism failed spectacularly because by that time Europe had largely secularized. They no longer cared about bringing Christian civilization to new lands. Their interests were purely commercial and frankly exploitative, so God didn’t bless their efforts.
That said, several former French colonies continue to be demonic and dysfunctional. For example, Quebec is a disaster. It began in the 1960s, with the so-called Quiet Revolution. Reforms limiting the influence of the Roman Catholic Church quickly turned into the forced secularization of Quebec. Christianity was replaced by secularism and socialism. Quebec became a failed state. Today, Quebec relies on federal transfer payments and immigration to survive. They’ve had to force people in their own province to learn their version of French, naturally known for its blasphemous slang, but with a bankrupt culture, there’s really nothing for immigrants to assimilate to.
Instead of acknowledging secularization has led to listlessness, with Quebeckers uninterested in having kids and content to live off of other Canadian provinces, Quebec continues to celebrate its secularization, going so far as to recently ban government employees from wearing religious symbols. The province’s motto is “I remember” but sadly, Quebeckers have forgotten that their cultural foundation was Jesus. They’re afraid of losing their identity, controlling every aspect of their society and isolating themselves. Yet, they’ve already destroyed the very culture they’re trying to preserve.
Haiti, another former French holding, is in even worse shape. Back in the day, Haiti made a deal with the devil. The successful slave revolt, later known as the Haitian revolution, began with a dedication to the devil by a vodou priest. Reportedly, during this so-called “bwa kayiman” ceremony, slaves drank pig’s blood and swore an oath to kill every white person on the island. Right after Haiti’s independence, Jean-Jacques Dessalines murdered thousands of French men, women and children.
To this day, Haiti celebrates this massacre by honoring Dessalines, a genocidal murderer, in its national anthem. Vodou remains popular and Haiti is one of the poorest, most miserable places on the planet. Instead of repenting, Haiti plays the victim and demands money from outsiders. Ironically, Haitians are dependent on charity from the countries they blame for their problems. Sure, the Bible says there is only one human race, but because of their bitterness and unforgiveness, most Haitians are obsessed with skin color. They blame slavery for their problems and they’re right in a sense. They’re still slaves; they just have a different master: Satan. The results speak for themselves.
