On one occasion, Paul told a group of Christians, “I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.” In other words, he preached the whole message of the Bible, not just selected parts. This includes the following:
Creation = God made a perfect world and each one of us. We are accountable to our Creator for how we live.
Corruption = Unfortunately, the first humans rebelled against Him. Their sin brought suffering and death into the world and all of us are born separated from our Creator.
Cross = Christ died for our sins and rose again, making a way for us to be reconciled to God.
Charismatic = Jesus ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. Fortunately, He didn’t leave us without any help. The Holy Spirit was sent to empower us.
Coronation = Sin and death ruin what God made, but He will eventually restore all things. Every knee will bow before Jesus as He fully establishes His Kingdom on earth.
The high price of idolizing comfort
The true follower of Jesus is a non-conformist, a holy rebel who obeys God even when it’s dangerous to do so. We yield completely to Jesus, renewing our minds, confessing the reality of heaven and listening to the Holy Spirit. We can’t be bribed or brainwashed. We’re immune to the herd mentality. We’re very much involved in the world, but we’re not a part of it. We’re ambassadors. Our home is in heaven, but we spend our time in a foreign place. The coronavirus panic has only served to highlight how foreign it is.
While Christians no longer fear death, because Jesus freed us from its power, the world is bound by it. Quarantining and social distancing have been observed religiously because people are afraid of dying. It’s not the only fear that’s been on display recently. Indeed, it seems people will do almost anything to preserve their standard of living. They’ll trade basic freedoms for a measure of comfort. What will become of such individuals when they’re presented with the mark of the beast? It seems likely that they’ll worship the Antichrist so they can continue to buy and sell. Jesus warned, “You cannot serve God and wealth.” Don’t be deceived.
